The body is merely the visibility of the soul, the psyche; and the soul is the psychological experience of the body. So it is really one and the same thing. ~C.G. Jung, Zarathustra Seminar

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE PROGRAM?

To support practitioners, therapists, and healers in your individuation process so that you can bring more depth of understanding and embodied wisdom to your life and your work. This starts with our inner work that, without egoic control, will find its way into how you show up in your life.

Step into the labyrinth of your psyche via embodied active imagination, somatically oriented dream analysis, embodied spirituality, mandala drawing and intuitive and task oriented movement practices to discover treasures or dialogue with shadow in your unconscious.

Jungian Somatics - Movement for Trauma bridges two worlds bringing a depth psychology lens to the MFT program and bringing movement and somatics to Jungian theory and practice. This course will introduce you to Jungian principles in an embodied way to deepen your relationship with your self and enhance your work with clients

CONSIDERATIONS:
This webinar is not a replacement for qualified mental health care and is intended for participants in an emotionally resourced place in their lives. If you are currently receiving mental health support, it is recommended you discuss this offering with your care provider to determine how engaging in this program jointly might impact your overall well-being. We will explore the unconscious psyche, which can destabilize people living with active trauma symptoms or living with general emotional overwhelm.

While the Jungian Somatics offerings naturally weave MFT material throughout, it's time to tether key foundational movement principles to Jungian Somatics theory. In this offering, we move beyond subtle bodywork into a solid aspect of embodiment that root us to the earth via matter and the myofascial system.

Join me and co-facilitator, Laura Wenger for an 8-week online learning experience bridging the pillars of Jungian Somatics with the principles of the former Movement for Trauma program. This is an immersive, interactive introduction to a potent body of work that combines Jungian depth psychology, somatics, and the principles of trauma recovery.

Be introduced to the anatomy of the psyche and how it is mirrored in the body; experience practices that have evolved from my 23 years of working with movement and somatics, along with my clinical training in Jungian analysis, working with the unconscious psyche.

PROGRAM CONTENT:

THE BODY AS AN ALCHEMICAL CONTAINER FOR THE INDIVIDUATION PROCESS TO UNFOLD: A theoretical overview of Jung’s work from an embodied perspective, including an introduction to the stages of alchemy and the concept of individuation via the self-regulating function of the psyche.

DUAL AWARENESS: Grounding embodiment and movement practices to bring ego strength online so that we can begin to observe complexes, somatically bridging interoceptive awareness with exteroceptive awareness.

BREATH AS A DOORWAY INTO THE UNCONSCIOUS: How to relate to the breath from symbolic perspective as a psychopomp (guide of the soul) in order to safely open dialogue with the unconscious through active imagination and spontaneous drawing.

THE NEUROBIOLOGY OF CREATIVITY: Experiential exploration of the intersection of neurobiology of creativity and the embodiment of the Self. Through somatic practices and mandala generation, we create more space to both hold suffering and to experience the individuation process.

EMBODIED ACTIVE IMAGINATION: The practice of intuitive movement with music to amplify somatic experiences within a buttressed container, followed by embodied drawing practices as a tool for circumbamulating the body while bringing symbol creation from a somatic orientation.

EXPLORING TRAUMA AS A SPIRITUAL INJURY: Exploring embodied spirituality and the intersection of nervous system theory with depth psychology to learn how the most pernicious forms of trauma can cut us off from aliveness and keep us in a figurative purgatory between life and death.

EMBODIED CO-TRANSFERENCE: A unique window into the somatics of transference and countertransference and the shared field via the unconscious psyche, attuning via somatic awareness and collaborative movement practices. We will discuss the power of tracking somatic countertransference as a way into the labyrinth of the psyche.

SOMATICS OF DREAM INTERPRETATION: Introduction to the somatics of dream interpretation via the principles of Jungian dream interpretation. We bring an innovative somatic orientation to dream interpretation that is not taught in Jungian circles, yet which is essential for working with more activating complexes.
